A Me-ist to a We-ist: How We Can Change the World One Person at a Time

Chapter Two

Be kind to the planet

Our Earth is populated with roughly 7.4 billion people as of August 2016, according to Wikipedia.com (World Population, https:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population). By the year 2100, a United Nations report estimates that number will grow substantially to around 11.2 billion. The sheer numbers of our species will put even more stress upon our world’s environment, energy resources, and food supplies. While our future may appear bleak, there is also a source of hope when we change our attitude about being a Me-ist to become a We-ist. This can be a great moment in history as H.H. The Dalai Lama writes about our present circumstance, “This crisis in bringing us an opportunity to experience what few generations in history ever have the privilege of knowing: a generational mission; the exhilaration of a compelling moral purpose; a shared and unifying cause…to put aside pettiness and conflict…and the opportunity to rise” (George, 2009). Being kind to our planet is not just buying fuel efficient automobiles and riding bicycles; turning down our home’s nightly temperature and changing to more efficient light bulbs; or recycling and buying less manufactured goods. Author James George (2009) nicely sums up our present situation, “The real bottom line, then, is to see that we are in a spiritual crisis that is widely misperceived as an environmental or an economic or a social crisis.

Earth Mother is screaming for our help to help ourselves: we can invent all sorts of new electronic gadgets; create unlimited social sites to consume our time; and design countless video games to distract us from being who we are or why we are here on the planet. These material goods cannot and will not help our environment…we must create new thinking to manifest as new people, a world of more caring and compassionate people that are kind to our planet. The shift in our fundamental thoughts, words, and actions towards ourselves and, hence, to others, creates new behaviours and values that are helpful to our environment and to us. As we have a spiritual awakening, our hearts and souls are also changed from being a Me-ist to a We-ist. What an extraordinary life it would be. Does each one of us have to change at the same moment to impact the world around us? No. The teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff (1991) reflect his ideas about what it takes to make real change on our world, “two hundred conscious people, if they existed and if they found it necessary and legitimate, could change the whole life on earth.” Once We-ists begin to change to Me-ists, a new paradigm is formed and then the momentum from such an occurrence will carry us to a new and better world.

The idea behind becoming a We-ist when you are a Me-ist at the present moment is to shift your focus from your Self to others, and your attention can be centred upon a person, animal or the environment. Let’s consider what happens as you focus upon another individual. When you shift your focus, you can help others feel important, self-confident, and worthy of love, success, and happiness. What single word leaves the greatest impression upon others…their name. Every time you meet a new person be sure to remember and use their name, nothing else is sweeter to your ear than your own name. We can help others become more self-confident by following these few steps. If we are supportive and not critical of others, this simple act is conducive to building a person’s self-confidence. When we spend time with someone else, this is when we can reinforce what they do well and not what they don’t do so well. These are ways to refocus upon others and not focus upon your Self.

When you shift your focus upon the creatures that you encounter on a daily basis you help that stray dog or cat by supplying them with a loving home. Millions of people world-wide agree with your decision to have a pet; surely, we all cannot be wrong. Why? You win because research indicates that owning a dog, cat or other animal companion is beneficial psychologically and physiologically (Crain, 2013). First, when you have a pet you are more active and this aids in increasing your heart rate and boosts your energy. Since you are active, you have a greater chance of lowering your chances for obesity, lowering your blood pressure, and your cholesterol too. Second, having a pet increases your feeling of empathy, a positive reaction that is flooded with positive energy as you put their needs before yours, which increases your compassion. Third, your pet needs you to feed, exercise, and water them which increase your empathy. In turn, you feel needed; your dog is never ever judgmental of your actions. Last, petting your dog or cat releases huge doses of positive hormones, serotonin and oxytocin, throughout your system which reduces your cortisol (Niven, 2007). Do you want to become a We-ist? Adopt an animal… today.

When you shift your focus upon the Earth Mother you are helping her survive and therefore enabling your children, grand-children, and great-grand-children an opportunity to live a long healthy life upon our one and only terrestrial home. The focus of this chapter is how we can change from a Me-ist to a We-ist by being kind to our environment. Let’s start with the three R’s:  reduce, reuse, and recycle. It appears that the 3 R’s appeared on the first Earth Day in 1970, within the Environmental Handbook edited by Garrett De Bell and published by Ballentine/Friends of the Earth (www.urbanore.com). The 3 R’s are effective because they are simple imperatives, commands that leave an impression upon our minds to take action to do something positive for our environment. In the process, we benefit emotionally and spiritually from our selfless actions to save the world from pollution.

First, according to Rob at the Green Guide for Everyday Living, reduce “…is dubbed as the mother of all 3 R’s and it should be the first rule to consider when making any task at home.” For example, it is important to work upon reducing energy, materials, and electronic gadgets where you live. Making these simple choices to reduce the waste and consumption in your home is a big step to caring for the Earth and taking the focus off of you and onto something bigger and more important than yourself.

Next, pay particular attention to what you buy and why you buy it; this prudent decision helps our environment. It is easy to say reduce buying clothes, mobile phones, jewellery, shoes and so forth for many of us; however, this attitude swims directly against the current of our modern-day consumer driven world. The government measures economic success by how much we spend. The neighbourhood gauges you on the size of your house, the make of your car, and the price of your toys. The media, in its many forms, pushes the idea that more is better and you are worth more because you have more. This is not true wealth and happiness in life; it is spiritual and emotional poverty that occurs when you face unbridled shopping. What can you do? If you have a problem, acknowledge that you have the problem; don’t deny it exists. Many of us have real problems and issues when it comes to being able to reduce what we buy. The problem is maybe that you are a shopaholic; but don’t feel embarrassed or ashamed of this condition because you’re not alone…far from it. The well-known New York psychologist, Dr. April Lane Benson, estimates that over 18 million Americans are shopaholics. It’s a staggering number of people who suffer from this dilemma, and this is why Dr. Benson created Shopaholicnomore.com. If you think that you or a loved one has a shopping or spending issue, you can visit the site and download their free self-assessment questionnaire to discover if there is a reason for concern as well as what to do about it. This site and its useful information could change your life forever.

In the end, it is our spiritual self which is worth more than our material wealth and our physical health.

Consumerism isn’t spiritualism

Many people pursue consumerism under the guise of spiritualism in order to attain material wealth. However, this kind of thinking can only produce temporary success. This is evident when a person achieves their goals and then these are taken away from them just as suddenly as they are attained. We witness these folks hitting a streak of bad luck or twist of fate and they lose all that they have worked to achieve.

Material wealth is fleeting at this moment

We only need to look around us at this time to understand that material wealth is fleeting: as the Stock Market crashed many lost their retirement savings; companies were put into bankruptcy and many lost their sole means of income; and others were forced to hand over their front-door keys and walk away from their homes. The sad part about this is that many will never regain what they lost from a lifetime of working because they are not aware of how to regain what was lost.

What is the symptom and what is the illness?

Still, these terrible results are the symptom and not the illness which permeates our modern-day world of consumerism. Our society exerts a great deal of pressure upon us to flaunt our wealth, actual or not, in order to make the grade.

We validate our Self with costly goods

We need costly watches, purses, and cars to validate our self-worth in today’s society. Shiny, sparkly objects are transitory and this week’s fashion becomes next week’s old news. If that’s all you are or known by is your costly toys, how can you attain true happiness and fulfillment in this life?

Gratitude, faith, belief, and optimism release ‘good’ chemicals in our body

When it comes to health, the new field of epigenetics is telling us that it’s an inside job to maintain and sustain good health. There is little doubt from the scientific findings that one’s spirituality and the positive emotions which accompany their connection to The Source, such as gratitude, faith, belief, as well as optimism release a pharmacopeia of good chemicals into their bodies. These naturally occurring substances then act as a defense against disease, and ultimately, result in a healthier and longer life.

What’s your most important possession in this life?

Overall, it is your spirituality that is the most important possession in your life. I say this because your spiritual Self manifests your material wealth and your physical health. It can never be the other way around where wealth or health manifests the spiritual self.

“Toys” don’t last…a spiritual connection does last

So, while your toys may be gone and your health fails, your spiritual connection cannot be lost to anyone or anything unless you consciously relinquish your connection with the Source. And even when things go awry, you still have your spirituality to regain what has been taken away.

Spirituality is the pathway to a ‘good’ life and not material goods

Hence, since material goods are short-lived and physical health depends upon your thoughts, we need to embrace spirituality as a means to live a wealthy, healthy, and fulfilling life

While you have no choice from where you start, you have the choice of where you end.

Most don’t come from wealth or fame…most work for wealth or fame

Most of us didn’t grow up in luxury and we certainly didn’t have a say in who our parents were or what level of success they reached in their lives. Even though we had no control or say over our beginnings, many use their past as an excuse to prevent them from achieving their future.

We plot our own course in life

Nonetheless, in spite of our humble beginnings, we can make the decision and take the action to end up where we want to be in our life.

An example of BIG dreams and BIGGER accomplishments

Many years ago on a desolate beach near Barranquilla, Colombia, a young girl would spend her Sundays dreaming about her future. Those weekend trips were the backdrop for her thoughts of traveling to foreign countries and becoming a well-known celebrity.

An unlikely place for fame to germinate and grow

This seemed an unlikely place for a child to grow up and become a superstar in the entertainment world. Just a childhood thought you may say? Well, after years of holding these lofty thoughts in her mind, they manifested on a large scale for Isabel Mebarak Ripoll. Miss Ripoll, better known to the world as Shakira, became a successful singer, songwriter, dancer, producer, actress and philanthropist as a result of her thoughts. Shakira could have used her humble beginnings as an excuse for remaining in a life of poverty…thankfully, she didn’t.

Poor beginnings wasn’t an excuse

Then there’s the amazing story of the most successful jockey in history who was inducted into The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1958. Edward (Eddie) Arcaro was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1916, the son of a poor taxi driver. Although he had very poor beginnings, he didn’t let anything stand in his way of success.

100 defeats before 1 victory

When he started his career as a jockey he lost the first 100 races he entered. During his early days, he broke bones and never crossed the finish line first, nevertheless, he still hung-on tenaciously to his dreams.

An amazing career

Eddie’s career spanned 30 years and during that time he won 4779 races and notched up the highest earnings of any jockey to date. He also won The Kentucky Derby five times and The Triple Crown of Racing twice, in 1941 and again in 1948. Eddie Arcaro didn’t let his early life take away his future dreams.

Your present doesn’t dictate your future

We have read that many super stars grew-up in poverty and virtually had nothing, living in a bad part of town with a single parent and having no food, no money, and no heat in the winter time to keep them warm. If they would have let the reality of the moment take over their dreams, they never would have made it to be the legends we admire.

Create your future…by choice, not by default

Some of us are creating a future by choice while others are creating a future by default.  Don’t use the past as an excuse for your present or your future. Plot your own course for success and don’t allow excuses to get in your way for the future you deserve.

Shinier, costlier, and larger toys cannot provide long lasting fulfillment in your life.

What do you fill the void in your life with?

Some think that chasing that shinier, costlier, and larger toy will fill the void in their life. While they expend much energy, perhaps even their entire lifetime pursuing these elusive goals, in the end, any material object cannot fill the void since the void is not the cause or the effect of a lack of material goods.

Are you pursuing spiritual fulfillment or material fulfillment?

Rather, the lack they experience in their life is from a lack of spiritual fulfillment. Somewhere along their journey in their physical form, they neglected their spiritual fulfillment at the price of material fulfillment. After a lifetime of chasing goals that cannot and will not bring true fulfillment, it is of little wonder that these people cannot look in the mirror and honestly believe that they are happier and healthier in life with their shinier, costlier, and larger toys.

What is your main focus in life?

Living a fulfilled life does not mean that a person should give-up the pursuit of material goods, this idea is in of itself a direct contradiction to the Natural Laws of the universe where expansion is the rule and not the exception. And so it should be with humankind to grow and expand like the physical universe we inhabit. The real dilemma is when the main focus in life becomes the pursuit of material goods which ultimately define you as a person.

Am I an Italian sports car? An expensive watch? An exclusive purse?

Hence, I am powerful like an exotic Italian sports car; I am exclusive as a one-of-a-kind watch; I am smarter since I wrote a top selling novel. However, the success you experience in life depends upon balance: the balance between your health, your wealth, and your spirituality. When you focus solely upon material goods you cannot possibly achieve balance and balance in life is what results in a truly fulfilled physical existence here upon planet Earth.

Do you crave material goods only?

Another problem which frequently accompanies our obsession with material goods is that some of us do not have the economic resources to support a life of extravagance and exclusive cravings for these costly items. If we are unable to pay the price of these goods outright, then we use credit and there is a high cost we must ultimately pay for living yesterday.

There is a high cost for living yesterday

Such a purchase – when you are not able to meet your monthly obligations – can lead to a negative vibratory state and you will struggle to get out of this state, however, you are not able to since you allow your present state to dictate your future state. Once, I owned an expensive European automobile when I needed it; I needed it since there was a void in my life and it became my identity, but, I could not afford it at the time and used credit to fund this expensive toy for my own vanity and self-worth.

What do you need? What do you want?

Many years have passed and now that I can afford this brand of automobile, I do not need it, I do not need my automobile to define who or what I am since what I drive is not who or what I am. It was a costly lesson, however, since my focus in life is now not upon impressing anyone or anybody with the set of wheels I drive, my focus is now upon spiritual fulfillment and to no surprise I now have the economic resources available for me to purchase such a vehicle without using any form of credit.

A positive vibratory state manifests what you desire

When you take your focus and life’s mission off of material gains, you will receive the material gains you want since you inhabit a positive vibratory state where all that you can imagine will be delivered to you from the Source.

Find balance in your life for true fulfillment

Focus your life upon achieving true balance and in the end you will find that the toys – all the shiny, costly, and large toys will find their way to your doorstep since you are not attempting to fill a void, rather, you are attempting to live a fulfilled life based upon a strong connection to the Source. And this, my friend, is true fulfillment in our present physical manifestation.

“It is your mind that creates your life’s illusions and it is your mind that creates your life’s realities.”

Life’s Illusions manifest from misinterpretations

The illusions in your life are the results of your misinterpretation of the circumstances that have happened, that are happening, or will happen to you and the realities in your life are the results of your rightful interpretation of the circumstances that have happened, that are happening, or will happen to you.

Your five senses act as filters in life

And it is your mind’s direct or indirect reaction to your circumstances, filtered through your five senses of sight, sound, smell, touch and taste which are either the catalyst for the improper interpretation or the proper interpretation of those circumstances that comprise your life. Hence, it becomes clear that the control of your mind and the control of your senses manifest your illusions or your realities.

Illusions are a minefield

The illusions that are created in your mind that consequently influence your thoughts, words, and actions are nothing more than falsehoods that have little substance from what the reality is in your life in most instances. We base our life upon these illusions and negotiate along through life like a soldier making his way through a deadly minefield with these unwarranted chimeras haunting our every waking moment.

Falsehoods are created from illusions

We sacrifice true happiness, abundance, and fulfillment because our illusions are continually being reinforced with our false thoughts, words, and actions. After years of living as we are living – accepting that the falsehoods are truths – our mind becomes rigid to our old paradigm and it is difficult to break away from our illusions. Since we live these illusions every day we soon accept them as the only alternative in our life. As we accept them as the only path in life, we lose our enthusiasm and desire to achieve BIG goals since our fate is already predetermined by our past results. We have lost the idea that we are in control of our lives and that many possibilities exist at the identical moment and it is our decision to focus upon what we want rather than what we have achieved up to the present moment. It is crucial to achieve any goal in our life to see and then experience our life not through a distorted lens of an illusion, rather, to see it and then think, talk, and act through a lens of our reality.

Incorrect assumptions create an unwanted and unfulfilled life

As we form our illusions in life by our jaundiced interpretation of our circumstances, experiences, and then our results, we form the realities in our life by our intuitive interpretation of our circumstances, experiences and then our desired results. It is our lack of control of our mind which leads to the incorrect assumptions we make about our past, present, and future situations and circumstances that create our illusions. And by contrast, it the control of our mind which produces the correct assumptions we make about our past, present, and future that create our realities.

Ask your Self important questions

The important question is How can we control our mind to insure we create the realities we want and not the illusions we do not want? To start, we need to understand that gaining and maintaining control of your mind in a myriad of situations is not unlike training your body to be a key athlete. What I mean is that it is not a sprint, but, a marathon. It is not the flavor of the week or the flash in the pain where you will try and see if it is for you. Rather, consider controlling your mind in the good and bad as a way of life. It is a long term commitment that must be worked upon diligently or you may not attain, maintain, and sustain the control of the most important path in your life to achieve what you want.

How can you gain and sustain control of your mind?

There are a number of practical suggestions which can help you gain and sustain control of your mind. First, it is imperative to your success to gain control of your mind and hence your reality – you must have 100% faith, belief, and expectation that you will be the master of your mind (your reality) and not the slave of your whims (your illusions). You may slip back into your old paradigms at times, still, realize that you will overcome the obstacles, no matter how difficult and be the captain of your journey.

Success manifests long after visualization and belief

Second, it is also critical to visualize your success long before it even happens. Hence, if you want a new car, a new house, a new job, or control over your mind, you first need to see the results you want on the non-physical plane before it appears on the physical plane. When you see what you want and deserve before it happens on human time, you are summoning the enormous power of the universe to your purpose and sets in motion the people, circumstances, and things required to manifest what you want. Practice visualization regularly when faced with a new goal.

Your mind can take you down any number of paths to success or failure

Third, another key in your success equation is to constantly monitor the illusions or the realities which you are thinking about. Intuitively, at the visceral level you know that your mind is leading you down a path of truth or falsehood. You only need to be aware of what is being presented to you. It is important to take the time to be silent in the noise of everyday living and listen to what your inner spirit is attempting to pass along to you and then it is even more important to act upon what you are receiving from the universe. When you consciously find quietude in nature or your family home, your focus will allow you to access the inner power of intuition which then manifests your realities and not your illusions.

Your family, friends, and acquaintances can lead you down any number of path to success or failure

Fourth, this idea marries with the idea of constantly monitoring your mind. The people around you, your circle of friends, family, and colleagues are always willing to help you make those tough decisions in life based upon what they would do in the same situation. The problem is that their advice is not based upon what is best for you and how it fits in with your plan for success in the universe. While you may want to be polite and listen to what they say to help you, this help then forms your new reality or illusion – it is best to listen to your intuition and not your family, friends, and colleagues in those tough situations. After all, their advice is built upon their unique experiences and we seldom share all the same experiences in life. And, we filter our experiences through different lens then the people around us which could manifest different realities or illusions. Ultimately, find your own path and not follow someone else’s path.

Overcome negativity to discover your path to success

Fifth, make a conscious effort to overcome the urge to react negatively in any and every undesirable, unsuspected, or unwanted situation. If you do act this way – you will not get out of your present unpleasant situation, rather, you will be building barricades that will insure that you will remain as you are. So, if you do not receive the raise you expected at work, instead of believing that you will never receive that extra monthly income (your illusion), design a plan that will make you more valuable to the company.

Plan for success by investing in your Self

Your plan could mean extra night courses or seminars or other professional development and most companies will even pay for their employees to do so. Make a solid effort and investment of time to design a plan that is achievable, remember, most people take longer to plan their next vacation than their lives! However, a plan is not enough; you must have a complete understanding that you are more valuable to the company and then you will enjoy that raise (your reality).

Control the reality you wish to experience

We can build our own realities regardless of what illusions have haunted us in the past. At this exact moment, there are many possibilities that present themselves to your Self. Take control of your mind and only allow the reality you want to exist in your mind at every moment. If you find that you are losing control and permitting wrongful illusions to take hold and dominate your Self, there are a number of ways to regain and sustain control of your mind which will lead to true health, wealth, and Self.

“The paths you take and the results you make are yours to create; these are neither random nor preordained conclusions.”

Our results aren’t due to luck, chance, or fate

Many would subscribe to the belief that the results in our physical world occur from luck, chance, or fate. However, on a daily basis, these same people inadvertently experience the benefits of a sundry of Natural Laws without any thought or appreciation of such wondrous events.

The Natural Laws are predictable and measurable

These Laws have been present since the moment of creation and continue to successfully keep the events that occur in the universe predictable and measurable. If there are any doubts, consider what it takes for planning a journey to the Moon or keeping an entire nation hooked-up to an electrical grid. In some instances we may not be able to detect the Natural laws with our five senses, nevertheless, there is evidence that the Natural Laws exist and neither chance nor fate nor luck are the pathways to what we hope to attain in this physical life.

Over-used, worn-out, and fallacious sayings

We all grew-up with such trite expressions such as Good Luck, It’s a twist of fate, and She’s so lucky to explain the unexplainable. These over-used, worn-out, and fallacious sayings help a great number of us cope with every-day life and the unpleasant as well as unplanned things that may occur to us. All the bad things that happen to nice people must be fate or chance or luck and all the good things that happen to bad people must be fate or chance or luck. After all, why would a benevolent Source not intercede to stop negative things happening to good people or stop positive things happening to bad people? With this thinking, it is easy to understand why many believe that life is nothing but a card game where an Ace may show-up in your hand this time but a Joker the next.

Are we the cards in a universal card game?

And when it comes to planning goals in life, such as economic freedom, a nice home, and a loving relationship…you have as much luck for achieving your personal goals as you do by rolling the dice and hitting snake eyes or a seven. These kinds of thoughts permeate the consciousness of many and leave a person with little expectation to achieve what they set their minds and souls upon.

Modern-day intellectualism demands physical evidence as proof

Now, to complicate this even further, add modern-day intellectualism to our choices in life…only things that can be proven scientifically are true and real and all the rest is just nonsense contrived by artists, romantics, and poets to cope in the real world where some are wealthy and happy and the balance are poor and unhappy. The great thinkers of the past, including such luminaries as Newton, have left their indelible mark upon humankind. And it all starts with scientists themselves: a recent survey of their spiritual beliefs indicated that a mere 7% believed in the Source, 72% disbelieved in the Source, and the balance polled was agnostic.

Beliefs support agendas…agendas support beliefs

Naturally, their beliefs support their agendas which support their beliefs: it is fair to assume that science is the new Source comprised of mathematical formulas and calculations. As the experts put forth their hypotheses and assumptions, these are based upon the absence of the Source. They propose that the Source does not exist in reality, only in our minds, and we cannot have a connection with or benefit from a Being that does not exist on the physical plane of existence which we are familiar with in this day and age.

“Experts” create the new reality

The media then grabs a hold of the ideas that the experts state as truth and these ideas enter into mainstream thought since we believe unquestionably what the experts propose as truth and reality. Even though their ideas may not hold-up under close scrutiny, nonetheless, these ideas are deeply entrenched in our collective consciousness and we now accept these as real and true and most live their lives on such premises.

Our lives are predetermined…we have no influence upon the outcomes in our life

Then we have the people who believe that every one’s life is predetermined from Day 1 and that we have no say in what we are or what we achieve in this earthly life.  Since we have no say and no influence upon the things that occur in this universe, each and every one of us are merely pawns in some universal chess game. Not since the devotion of the 16th century Calvinists have we witnessed such faith and adherence to this predeterministic dogma in one’s life. In their eyes, they see individuals as unimportant when it comes to participating in the creation in the universe – we are mere viewers and not participators.

There is no free will…we are hard-wired since birth

Their Supreme Being has not given humankind free will to pursue what we want to pursue, after all, there is no purpose or need to have free will provided to us since humankind has no control and no influence upon order or disorder in the universe. Accordingly, our brains and our bodies are fully hard-wired, imprinted, and preprogrammed with our destiny upon our entry into our terrestrial home.

Our fate is immutable

Hence, we must buy a newspaper at a certain time; we must drive home a certain way even if it means our death; and we must have a bad relationship even if it means a life of unhappiness. We cannot change that which is predestined, no matter where we live, where we work, or where we go. With our earthly existence and results already set and being immutable, many must accept their fate as the way it is and make no attempts to break free of their lot in life.

We are creators of our paths and results

Finally, there is support for the current belief that each and every one of the human race has been given free will from the benevolent Source which allows us to create what we want and deserve in this life. This idea is not folklore. And this idea is not an illusion conjured-up by artists, romantics, or poets – it is an idea that is supported by the New Age scientists including Max Planck, David Bohm, and the founders of Quantum Physics.

We focus upon what we want to manifest

Fundamentally, Quantum Physics has shown us that what we think is reality is indeed the case. As a result of this observation, we have direct control over the events that occur in our life and our focus helps to manifest that which we focus upon. Furthermore, all things in the universe, no matter how large or how small are directly connected by a field of energy which can be accessed to allow us to manifest our goals.

We are linked to the power of universal energy

We have direct access to the neutral power of the universe. Since this field of energy is neutral, it merely delivers that which is requested of it, hence, we have domain over our results, past, present, and future. Be confident that you can plan your plan and then work your plan to achieve what you desire most in this life albeit, money, good health, or a spiritual Self.

There are many possibilities and there are many opportunities

Our goals and dreams are achievable since we have at our very fingertips multiple dimensions with multiple possibilities and our end results are created by our focus. Since multiple dimensions exist and they all exist at the same moment, there are as many possibilities as there are opportunities in your life at the same moment. This being the case, there is a reality where we have meet our soul mate and have enjoyed a fulfilling life together; there is a reality where we were never ill and lived a long life; and there is a reality where we started a business and we had tremendous success and helped the less fortunate around us.

Focus upon the possibility that you desire

At any one time, all possibilities exist around us, however, we can exist in only one possibility at the moment and it is our focus which makes a possibility a reality. Our focus is our thought and thought is energy and it is this energy that is attracted to like energy which manifests our possibility into a reality. Like only attracts like and cannot attract unlike. Hence, we can never focus our thoughts upon good and receive bad and we can never focus our thoughts upon bad and receive good. We must understand that once we can overcome the illusion of what we see in the physical world around us, we can then live the life of our choice with happiness and prosperity and without doubt or fear or illness.

Spirituality can help heal and prolong one’s physical body

If there is any doubt that we are in control of our destiny – regardless if it physical or spiritual – consider the results of ill patients who have spirituality in their lives. The statistics from numerous studies have shown that a person who is spiritual, regardless of what form their personal spirituality may take, recovers from their illness quicker and often lives longer when compared to a person who has no spirituality or spiritual focus in their life. It appears that their return to wellness is hinged upon their thoughts, beliefs, values, and feelings and those thoughts, beliefs, values, and feelings are focused upon their connection with the Source.

A divine conduit to good wellness

This divine connection appears to be the conduit which helps to unblock negative energy and to re-channel with positive energy. And there is evidence that distant healing has helped patients to return to wellness too. There is also scientific proof that meditating can and does help eliminate a wide variety of health problems including high blood pressure, hypertension, and other maladies which we suffer from in the 21st century.

In the end, undoubtedly, we have control over our health, our wealth and our Self – needless to say, we have both positive and negative influence upon the events and results that occur in our lives.

We are full participants in our results

The results that you have received in your life to this very moment are not the product of random or predestined events…our results are fully in our hands and we are full participants and creators in a universe governed by a benevolent Source with a set of immutable Natural Laws.

“We fear death – we fear life.”

Is death the end of us?

Many fear death since their physical body will be either interred or cremated. Both appear to be a very poor choice when the end of this plane of existence finally occurs to each of us, and it will come to each and every one of us since there is no escaping a change of existence no matter your wealth, your political or social rank, or your celebrity status.

Do you fear interment and cremation?

Many rationalize that interment is a cold, dark, and isolated place where they are reduced to a pile of dust by millions of microbes and then left in one place to the end of eternity itself.  By contrast, others rationalize that cremation will be extremely painful as their physical body is subjected to temperatures of around 1200°C and reduced to a small pile of grayish ash that once represented their physical existence.

Fear life? Fear death?

In spite of the fact that we feel great fear that we will not escape this existence in this physical body, we also feel great fear every day of life that we will not be good enough, we will not be rich enough, and we will not be smart enough. Hence, we fear death – we fear life.

Energy can neither be created or destroyed

If we fear life, why do we fear death? Simply put, we believe that death is the end, a painful and frightening end to our earthly existence where we will be cruelly and unjustifiably taken from our loved ones or our loved possessions.

Does science hold our answer?

While we harbor this great fear, we neglect that physicists have discovered energy can neither be created nor destroyed and this could be our most cherished of ideas in these modern times. Each and every one who shares this earthly existence is composed of energy, vibrational energy that was created when the Source created the universe in that glorious moment. Since energy cannot be created nor destroyed, why do we not realize that we cannot be destroyed either, we merely change the state which we presently inhabit to another state.

We are pure energy, and as such…

We leave our present physical body as pure energy and we should not feel remorse for that physical body which we must leave eventually. And some believe that when we return to the ultimate state of being, that is to be repatriated with the Source, it is the highest state of existence which we can achieve. And we fear this ending?

Fear is our worst enemy

If we fear death, why do we also fear life? As we go about our daily routines of living and making a living, we carry a great number of fears along with us. We fear that will lose our jobs, we will lose our loved ones, we will lose our health, and we will lose our wealth. Sadly, most never even entertain the idea that they will lose their most valuable connection, the connection to the Source.

Lose fear and gain life

However, when we experience the joy of a deep connection with the Source, we lose our fear of living and making a living. We lose our ego, we lose our greed, we lose our envy, and we lose our jealousy. When these negatives no longer gnaw away at our positive energy, we must live a life of sheer enjoyment and wonder as each precious moment of our earthly existence passes before our very eyes. And we fear this living?

An ending is a beginning

In our modern world, we fear death since we will be separated from our loved ones and our loved things. However, the changing of state is a natural end of your present physical existence, it is not the end of your existence it is merely the beginning of a new existence.

We are never separated from our lived ones…never

We fear life since we will lose our loved ones and our loved things as well. However, changing from a negative state to a positive state of existence is a natural occurrence as we receive all that the Source wants us to receive and are entitled to receive. In the end, live with no fear of death and live with no fear of life.

The only moment you have is this moment.

9. Die each moment so that you can be new each moment.

(Osho’s Ninth New Commandment)

There is but one moment

Many look forward to a future of wealth, prestige, and good health; some look to the past when they had wealth, prestige and good health; and the rest never look at the present moment for wealth, prestige, and good health. However, you can never live in a past moment….you can never live in a future moment. All you have is this moment…the one that just began and the one that just ended.

header15A truly wondrous moment

We live in a truly marvelous moment: one that gives us the sweet songs of the birds, the harmonious rush of the mountain streams, and the gentle whir of the four winds. These natural phenomena are what we should be aware of and what we should express gratitude for…they open our souls to the spiritual, the intense wow from the depths of our very existence. The now.

The moment exists for each of us

However, you must be aware of these things, you must be awake that they exist within you and without you. Each of us has the sacred moment in our soul: we need not be religious, we need not be old or young, male or female. There is no prejudice, there is no exclusion of a single soul based upon their gender, age, location, intellect, health or wealth. The moment is innate within each of us, and it is our responsibility to find that moment, live that moment, be grateful for that moment.

Our role in the moment

Each of us is equal in the eyes of the moment, hence, we are the moment, and if we do not acknowledge the wonder of the moment, it is not complete…the universe is missing a piece of itself because we are the universe. We are unaware of the moment but we cannot separate our soul from the universe any more than our blood can separate itself from our heart;  our breath can separate itself from our lungs; or our thought can separate itself from our minds.

Each moment dies a quick death

This moment exists only once, and as each moment dies, we must accept the next wondrous moment. We must fully live this moment as our last moment, after all, this all there is in life.  Do not focus upon happiness and joy in the future, it can never be experienced in the future because once it stops being the future, it becomes the past.

Every new moment brings wonder

As we die this moment, this allows the next to be born. As a newborn child arrives in the physical world, full of awe, wonder, amazement…we must also see, feel, experience our new moment with awe, wonder, and amazement. Our new moment allows us to embrace what is ours; do not keep it hidden…out of our focus, out of our awareness, out of our consciousness.

Gladfully surrender each wondrous moment to live the next, and as the death of this moment occurs, feel grateful that you have the next new moment to feel the wonder of life surging through your heart, lungs, and mind.
