In the end, it is our spiritual self which is worth more than our material wealth and our physical health.

Consumerism isn’t spiritualism

Many people pursue consumerism under the guise of spiritualism in order to attain material wealth. However, this kind of thinking can only produce temporary success. This is evident when a person achieves their goals and then these are taken away from them just as suddenly as they are attained. We witness these folks hitting a streak of bad luck or twist of fate and they lose all that they have worked to achieve.

Material wealth is fleeting at this moment

We only need to look around us at this time to understand that material wealth is fleeting: as the Stock Market crashed many lost their retirement savings; companies were put into bankruptcy and many lost their sole means of income; and others were forced to hand over their front-door keys and walk away from their homes. The sad part about this is that many will never regain what they lost from a lifetime of working because they are not aware of how to regain what was lost.

What is the symptom and what is the illness?

Still, these terrible results are the symptom and not the illness which permeates our modern-day world of consumerism. Our society exerts a great deal of pressure upon us to flaunt our wealth, actual or not, in order to make the grade.

We validate our Self with costly goods

We need costly watches, purses, and cars to validate our self-worth in today’s society. Shiny, sparkly objects are transitory and this week’s fashion becomes next week’s old news. If that’s all you are or known by is your costly toys, how can you attain true happiness and fulfillment in this life?

Gratitude, faith, belief, and optimism release ‘good’ chemicals in our body

When it comes to health, the new field of epigenetics is telling us that it’s an inside job to maintain and sustain good health. There is little doubt from the scientific findings that one’s spirituality and the positive emotions which accompany their connection to The Source, such as gratitude, faith, belief, as well as optimism release a pharmacopeia of good chemicals into their bodies. These naturally occurring substances then act as a defense against disease, and ultimately, result in a healthier and longer life.

What’s your most important possession in this life?

Overall, it is your spirituality that is the most important possession in your life. I say this because your spiritual Self manifests your material wealth and your physical health. It can never be the other way around where wealth or health manifests the spiritual self.

“Toys” don’t last…a spiritual connection does last

So, while your toys may be gone and your health fails, your spiritual connection cannot be lost to anyone or anything unless you consciously relinquish your connection with the Source. And even when things go awry, you still have your spirituality to regain what has been taken away.

Spirituality is the pathway to a ‘good’ life and not material goods

Hence, since material goods are short-lived and physical health depends upon your thoughts, we need to embrace spirituality as a means to live a wealthy, healthy, and fulfilling life

Your immediate and long-term success depends upon your desire, emotion, and action.

How do you define success?

Success in life can mean a number of things to different people. Some chase fame, many want material goods, while others pursue the peace and harmony that results from spiritual attainment. Nevertheless, no matter how diverse success is defined, there are three essential ingredients necessary for a life of personal achievement. Desire, emotion, and action are powerful forces that can lead a person to achieve the ultimate success in their life.

Desire, a deep burning desire for your goal can help you achieve the seemingly unachievable.

In Napoleon Hill’s writing’s, he clearly believed that desire was critical for achieving success. However, it must be a burning desire, a desire for fulfillment that takes over your entire life and you simply must reach the goal desired in your mind in spite of any and all obstacles.

Belief in achieving your goal is not enough to achieve your goal.

Although people may believe they have an intense desire for their goal, they never realize what they’re after. They let excuses get in their way. They don’t have the money needed to start a new business or they don’t possess the knowledge or the time just isn’t right. They allow their present circumstances to rob them of their desire.

Excuses can dose your burning desire to reach your goal.

When you feel that your burning desire is waning, it is crucial to rekindle the flame and remain focused upon the end goal, and not allow excuses to take away your need for success.

The intensity of your emotions helps you achieve what you desire most in this life.

The second part of the equation is having emotions for the goal you want to achieve. The intensity of your emotions helps you get around, over, or under the obstacles that can be put between you and your goal. Positive emotions of faith, abundance, enthusiasm, expectancy, passion, and gratitude change your psychological and physiological Self.

Your outer world mirrors your inner world.

Just think when you’re sad: your outside mirrors your inside since there’s no hiding your true Self. Now, think when you’re happy: you feel good on the inside and your outer Self reflects that good feeling as you walk tall and confident. You are harmonious with the universe and your goal.

Harmony between your goals and your thoughts manifests your goals.

In turn, being in harmony with the Natural Laws opens up the floodgates of the universe to bring together the people, the circumstances, and the right moment for your personal success. So, look in that mirror and get those emotions out, they’re crucial for personal success.

Action is often missed; you cannot achieve your goals through inaction.

Even though one’s desires and emotions are in harmony, a goal can never be accomplished unless you take action. Actions produce results that bring success. It’s clear that the little things done consistently bring about huge results over time.

Plan what action you will take daily to reach your goal.

In order to achieve your goals, plan daily and be sure to do the most important thing needed on a daily basis to succeed. It’s wise to start your day off on a positive note and write down what you need to do that day to get closer to your dreams.

Manifest your goals through desire, emotion, and action…it’s the Law.

No matter how you look at life, a healthy dose of desire, emotion, and action will result in the manifestations of your goals.

The money you have in your pocket is the manifestation of the thoughts you have in your mind.

Is modern-day economic survival really that difficult?

It’s not very difficult to think about a life of poverty, a lack of opportunity, or an absence of hope in our modern-day world. The media portrays doom and gloom at every opportunity they possibly can. There’s the meltdown on Wall Street, the bankruptcies of major corporations, and the recession which threatens the world. Still, there are many people who will continue to thrive in spite of these economic times and you must be one of them, nevertheless, it all starts with your mindset.

There is abundance everywhere, still, you need to open your eyes, heart, and soul to this universal truth

One of the Natural Laws found within our cosmos is The Law of Abundance. Clearly, as we look around us there is abundance, there is an unlimited abundance, even the universe itself is ever-expanding as time unfolds. There is lots for everyone and you cannot lose something so another person gains something.

You will not gain as others lose; the Law of Abundance doesn’t operate that way

And the opposite is true as well since you will not gain as another loses. The abundance of the universe is ours to have and enjoy and even though one supply should cease to exist another supply is created. This is the nature of the Law of Abundance.

Negative thoughts, words, and actions are contagious

When you have your Monday morning coffee at the office, notice how the general conversation moves to the current situation in the world. Most workers are in a state of fear, panic, and anxiety since they might be the next person who faces the axe from the boss. This kind of thinking is contagious and infectious to all those that subscribe to it and nothing good can ever come of it.

Your thoughts, words, and actions manifest your dream or your nightmare

These negatives sap your energy, take away your creativity, and can cause mental and physical ailments. How can a mindset of poverty, lack, and fear ever lead a person out of their current situation? And, this mindset even drives to them what consumes their mind.

Feel, see, and touch a world of abundance inside your mind, body, and soul

In order to thrive financially, set aside the current economic turmoil within the outer world and replace it with an inner world of abundance. It might be difficult to see plenty since we are constantly being inundated by any number of negatives from the media. Still, in a universe where order is the rule and not the exception and where our inner thoughts must manifest in the outer world, we do have complete control over our future.

You have complete control over your thoughts, words, and actions…watch what they are very carefully

Therefore, based upon the Natural Laws, if you think abundance, you will see the abundance around you and you will attract abundance which then must manifest abundance for you. This is the Law. In spite of these tough times, when you maintain a mindset of abundance and plenty, you can only attract and retain plenitude in your life. Continually keep your thoughts focused upon abundance and your pockets will be overflowing, even in such troubled times.

Make prayers OF your desires, rather than prayers FOR your desires.

Photo by William Farlow on Unsplash

Let’s pray FOR good health…is this going to result in achieving our wants or desires?

As children we are taught how to pray for what we want: we pray for good health, for good grades, and for good weather. Naturally, as we mature into adults, we carry this tradition along with us. However, it is of little wonder that most of us never receive what we pray for since the words of our prayers do not attract our desires; instead, these words push our goals further away from us.

Don’t ask for the bad, sad, or unwanted to be removed from your life

It seems that there are some basic misconceptions about prayer which then affect our success and our lives. First, it is a common belief that we should ask for the bad, for the sad, or for the unwanted to be removed from our life. But, when we pray for a change in our life, we are asking out of want, lack, and desperation which only add strength and power to our worst nightmares.

Visualize the good and not the bad being removed from your life

Prayers for abundance empower poverty. Prayers for health empower sickness. Prayers for happiness empower sadness. Rather, we must understand to pray of abundance, of health, and of joy in the present. We are not just playing with semantics; this observation is entirely consistent with the Universal Laws. When I say pray of abundance, I mean see the end goal at this moment. And pray of health and of joy; as a result, see good health and happiness in your life at this moment.

Words aren’t our prayers…our emotions and our feelings are our prayers

Second, there is the accepted idea that our prayers are our words and our words are our prayers. However, this idea is a long way from the truth as the ancients left us clear evidence that our prayers are not just our words, rather, our prayers are our emotions. Without a doubt, the essence of prayer is in our feelings which we find within the 2,000-year-old messages that the Gnostics left for us.

The Gnostics timely message from over two millennia ago

To paraphrase their timeless message; we must surround ourselves with our answers. With these wise words, it is apparent that we must overcome our natural reaction to want to focus our attention upon what ails us and ask for those things to change.

Experience your wants and desires within before they materialize from without

Rather than using our words and asking for the removal of the ills from our life, we need to first experience abundance, good health, and happiness already in our life. In order to escape our unpleasant present situation within our minds, we must use our emotions to help us navigate around and through our troubles before our wants are actualized on the physical plane.

Express prayers of gratitude daily to achieve personal fulfillment and joy in your life

Third, we often think that the sole purpose of prayer is to ask for success in life. However, let us not forget that prayers are not only the harbingers of change in our lives. Previously, we made our prayers of abundance, of good health, and of spiritual Self. Having received what we asked of The Source, we now can make new prayers of gratitude. Watch what happens when you turn this around and make prayers of gratitude every day. When we express our heartfelt gratitude, we can only receive more of the same from the universe.

Prayer connects our spiritual and physical world

Prayer is the connection between our spiritual and our physical world. It is not limited to our words, those eloquent or pious sayings which roll off of our tongues. Rather, it also includes the myriad of feelings we hold within our hearts and souls. This subtle yet meaningful difference will provide the answers of your prayers.

Celebrate disharmony in your life

Is disharmony an evil or the unawareness of being in disharmony the real evil?

Volumes have been written about the evils of disharmony in our lives. Disharmony occurs when our thoughts, our wants, and our actions are incongruent, and thus, contradictory to the Natural Laws of the universe. This idea has been supported by others who believe that being in a state of disharmony can never bring you happiness; being inharmonious with the Law is a sign of failure; and being out of sync with the Natural Laws can only produce more of what you have at the present moment.

Being unaware of disharmony is the real state of tragedy in your life

In spite of these words, I believe that the evil is not being in a state of disharmony, but, not recognizing it nor doing anything about it. In the end, disharmony should be used to work for you in your pursuit of success.

Our present manifests from our past thoughts, actions and words

Our present circumstances are the results of our past thoughts, actions, and words. If we have made changes in our life, it is because we have maintained certain thoughts and then have taken specific actions. However, if we have not made changes in our thoughts, we have not made any changes in our actions or words, and then our circumstances will surely remain the same.

How can we define a disharmonious state of being?

Let’s consider when a person is in debt, accepts their situation, and does nothing to get out of debt; are they not in a harmonious situation? You are not in a disharmonious state when you are in debt and do nothing about it; you are not in a disharmonious state when you are in a bad relationship and take no action to change things. You are in a harmonious state as your thoughts, actions, and words thus, your circumstances are one in the same.

A heightened state of awareness results in personal growth

On the other hand, when you are in a disharmonious state and realize your true situation, you are in a heightened state of awareness, a true connection with your spirituality, and this is a positive situation to be in. Since you understand that you are thinking one thing and doing just the opposite, you will experience personal growth and achieve your goal.

Recognize disharmony to find true success

It’s important to recognize disharmony and get to work to change things. Think back in your own life to see what fear, what discomfort you escaped as a result of making changes in your thinking and your actions. Don’t we study to have a better education to make more money? Don’t we start our own business to become self-fulfilled?  How can we realize personal growth if not for disharmony?

Chaos always proceeds growth

Chaos always precedes growth. And when you understand that you’re in a state of disharmony, this is the beginning of change and the beginning for taking action and making advances towards your goal. Embrace disharmony in your life as your springboard to success.

Do what you fear to do.

Fear is a Dream Stealer

Fear is the masterful thief of success. Fear is larceny of the mind. Fear is the tether that binds you to your present unpleasant situation. Fear is our Number 1 killer of dreams as we allow this negative emotion to consume our everyday life and steal wonderful opportunities from our very fingertips.

Energy mirrors negative or positive emotions, feelings, and thoughts

Science indicates that we inhabit a world that is surrounded by a field of energy, energy which appears to mirror back to us what emotions we feed into it. And this web of energy does not judge the input and does not judge the output. Thus, if we feed positive emotions into the field, we receive positive results back into our life.

Emotions can free us or shackle us

The same holds true when we feed negative emotions into the field, we can only receive back negative results. As a result of not having what we could identify as a conscience, this field of energy manifests what we want in life, either the most or the least. Hence, there is no escaping the emotions that dominate our life.

Eliminate fear to live your ideal life

Even though fear is a formidable opponent, you can conquer it by being aware of it and taking steps to eliminate it in your life. Think back upon some of the most adventurous times in your life, that first ride on a two-wheeler without the training wheels. Or, that first kiss with your adolescent sweetheart. No doubt, most of us were apprehensive about taking that first step into the unknown. Even though fear consumed us, we went ahead and jumped onto the seat or awkwardly puckered our lips. Then we just did it and a sense of accomplishment immediately vanquished our fears.

Fear lingers deep within us…we must revisit it to eliminate it

Why does fear preoccupy our lives? It must be past conditioning, thus, if we failed once or twice at love or business we are still being haunted by the outcome. Those feelings of failure still linger in the recesses of our mind and hold us back from success. However, we must revisit those experiences from a different perspective and learn from them.

What does fear tell me about me?

Question why things happened as they did? What could I have done differently? What did I learn about myself? Errantly, we judge our future success by our past, and if our past is riddled with failure, we then feel fear of success. In the end, we must look at our triumphs and not at our failures to gauge our self-worth.

Focus upon past conquests not upon past failures

When we focus upon our past conquests and not our past failures, this builds confidence and rids our lives of fear. And to reiterate, we do receive what we want or fear the most.  The universe is intelligence which reacts to our emotions and when we feel fear we can only receive what we fear into our lives.

Fear can and does impact your physical, economic, and spiritual life

Fear can destroy your health, your wealth, and your Self. You must be aware that this negative emotion, above all others, can bring despair to your life. Still, when you do the thing that you fear the most, your circumstances will change as this negative emotion is pushed out of your life.

Approach FEAR head-on.

Climb that mountain. Run that race. Start that business.

We must make a conscious decision to gain, retain, and sustain control over our thoughts.

Our thoughts are priceless

Our most valuable possessions are not parked in our driveways, are not worn on our wrists, and certainly are not the walls that surround us when we sleep at night. Our most valuable possessions are the thoughts that swirl around in our mind. Although these are the most precious things we have in life, many neglect their thoughts like a gardener who lets weeds take-over his land.

Control of our thoughts creates success

Since it is our thoughts and our thoughts alone that lead us to success or failure, we must learn to be in control of our thoughts and not let the weeds of fear, jealousy, poverty, envy and self-deprecation dominate our thinking. If we let these negatives rule our spiritual world, we can only expect to have more of the same in our physical world.

Gain control of your thoughts as the first step in your journey

In order to be successful, it is important to gain control over the thoughts that we harbor within our minds. Many may not believe that they have control over their thoughts. However, we have been given the choice by our Creator to let our thoughts control us or for us to control our thoughts. If we don’t gain control of our inner world, we are like a ship that is being tossed about on the open ocean. We are pulled one way and then pushed in another.

How can we gain control of our most precious gift?

Yet, we can gain control by consciously deciding upon what we constantly think about. If a negative appears, replace it with a positive; two thoughts cannot occupy our minds at the same time.

Retaining control over your thoughts is the next step towards your success

After we have come to the realization that we can gain control of our thoughts, we must now be able to retain that control or we will slip back into our old habits as the negatives quietly creep back into our minds. In our day-to-day activities, it can be difficult to retain control over our mind: there are always negative colleagues complaining about the company or the nightly news explaining about the latest downturn in the economy.

Negativity is all around us, however, don’t let the darkness take control

Doom and gloom is nothing new. Still, if we are constantly monitoring our thoughts and make adjustments when necessary, we can retain control of the most valuable asset we have.

Sustaining your thoughts is the final step in your journey

Successfully controlling your thoughts can only be short term if you aren’t able to sustain that control over a lifetime. Over a period of time, we develop a habit…either good or bad.

It’s a conscious effort

Your conscious efforts to control your thoughts will change into an automatic response and keep you on course like an automatic pilot within the latest jetliners or cruise control in your vehicle. Be patient and let time work for you.

Be careful what you plant…you can only harvest the same as what you sow

Be aware that planting a positive seed within your mind will produce a harvest of fruit within your life. Only allow what you want to enter within your mind since you have the control to do so.

I think that we’re all done with 2020. Most would want this past year in their rearview mirror.

“Positive expectancy is the driving force that changes problems to solutions, difficulties to possibilities, and adversities to opportunities.” Roger Kenworthy

This past year has been difficult for may of us, however, we cannot lose sight of the fact that we can come out on the other side of this pandemic much stronger if we look at our problems as solutions, our difficulties into possibilities, and our adversities into opportunities.

Roadblocks are not meant to end our desires; rather, they are there to instruct us.

When we set out to accomplish big goals and big dreams, we often run into roadblocks that appear to stop us from achieving what we truly desire in life. However, these are mere detours set before us to test our resolve. Although we encounter problems, difficulties, and adversities along the path to success, The Law of Expectancy can turn these into solutions, possibilities, and opportunities.

You will only achieve what you expect to achieve.

The Law of Expectancy will bring about big changes in your life as a result of your mental attitude. Because you achieve what you expect to achieve, according to the Law, your attitude sets off a chain reaction to bring about your success. So, we have thoughts of success that cause us to react in a positive manner which draws all the people and circumstances that are necessary to achieve what we want.

Failures manifest victories if you persist and not surrender your goals

Thomas Edison certainly had the Law on his side when it took him over 10,000 attempts to discover the incandescent light bulb. And The Law was working for Sly Stallone when scores of Hollywood studios turned down his script about a prize fighter from Philadelphia. In spite of repeated failure and rejection, these men had an attitude of victory and not of defeat which helped them get around, through, and over the obstacles that were stopping them from achieving their ultimate goal.

Positive Expectancy is a key component of your success

It must be said that the opposite is true as well, if we think we can’t then we certainly can’t reach our goals. This is evident with many people: on the surface, it looks like they should attain whatever they strive for. They plan their goal, are sure to be positive in life, and do all the right stuff, however, unless they have positive expectancy, chances are they will not reach their goal no matter how long or how hard they try. This is self-sabotage. And as they continue to sabotage their efforts on an unconscious level, they are not even aware of what or why they don’t achieve the success they want out of life.

Clearly define your goal, visualize your results, take consistent action, and remain in a positive state of vibration.

The Law will provide for you if you do the following: have a clearly defined goal, visualize your results before they occur, never lose sight of your goal, take consistent action towards your goal, and remain in a positive state of mind.

Expectancy of success PLUS positive thoughts will manifest your desires

Even though you maintain positive thoughts towards your goal and your success, it is not enough just to be positive. More importantly, you need positive expectancy to accompany optimism. You have to feel a sense of expectancy as well as think positively to succeed. Expectancy of success, coupled with positive thoughts, will manifest what you want to achieve in your life.

Create your life through dedication, discipline, and deadlines.

Photo from Upsplash; Aaron Visuals

Success, in whatever form it takes for you, is not just wishful thinking

We buy a motivational book, hear a motivational speaker, or listen to a webinar and we come to the conclusion that with little or no effort on our part, except for wishful thinking, we can sit back and wait patiently for success to walk through our door. No wonder we have shattered dreams and broken lives.

Success is innate, but it still has to be ignited by your actions

Even though we harbour within ourselves the means to achieve an unimaginable level of success, we still need to take action to receive our end goal, and this is The Law.

Don’t just TRY to achieve your goals

It seems that many try to achieve their goals, but, they try until the next great idea comes along and then they try that one for a while and the cycle goes on and on. In the end, they just give up and believe that success is meant for everyone else except for them. However, when we try to reach our goals, we really are not giving it our all, it is just a half-hearted attempt and this lack of commitment keeps success just out of reach.

A simple, yet precise path for your success

Rather than just try to achieve our dreams, we need to follow this simple, yet effective formula to accomplish those lofty aspirations: dedication, discipline, and deadlines

Dedication is the STICKTIVITY in our lives

Dedication is making that extra effort when you tired, beat-down, and held-back from achieving your goals. Yet, we must endure even when things look the bleakest to accomplish what we want from life. It often happens that our greatest set-back prepares us for our greatest triumph. In order to be able to have sticktivity in our lives, it is important to make the right choice initially. This way, if there are some bumps upon the road to success, you still keep going around, under, or through those roadblocks.

Discipline is the deal breaker and deal maker

Discipline is doing what you need to do even though you may not want to do it. It is easy to get distracted in our techno world. Still, something must be done, anything, no matter how small each and every day to move you towards your goals. When we think about sales, it is not always the smoothest talker that achieves success, rather, it is the most disciplined who do certain things regularly that succeed in a big way.

Deadlines are the crucial yardstick for success

Deadlines keep us on track, so, they are a crucial yardstick for success. Still, if you let deadlines manifest negative emotions, you only drive success further away from you. Manage your deadlines and do not allow your deadlines to manage your emotions.

Attaining success is a easy as the three D’s

While we have to work at our goals, there are ways to be sure we keep on track when we are tired and up against it. As you pursue your lofty dreams in life, remember The Triple D’s and the impact they can have upon your achievements.

It’s the little things, done repeatedly, that carry us to our goals.

Each journey starts with a single step

There is a well-known Chinese saying which parallels our own personal success journey. Without a doubt, everyone has heard the wise words that A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step.

This is the same story when you set your mind on a goal and then work towards it. It’s the seemingly small steps, or so to speak, the placing of one foot in front of the other over and over again which will carry you to your final destination.

Break your goal into smaller, more manageable pieces

A very large goal may seem overwhelming due to its size, although, we can rationalize that the goal becomes more manageable when we break it down into smaller tasks. The struggle then is not placing one foot in front of the other when the mood strikes us, rather, being consistent in taking those small steps towards our goal.

Your excitement carries your goal in it’s infancy

Naturally, the first days after you’ve set a goal are the easiest since you’re excited about achieving the end results which may include a new car, a larger house, or a new relationship. However; you haven’t been tested by life and the 1001 roadblocks that can come between you and your success. Just think back to your last New Year’s resolution: after the initial excitement wore off, most likely that goal was abandoned.

Decide upon what you “really” want to do-or-die achieve

There are a few steps that will help you develop the essential habits to accomplish your goals. Before you set out on your journey, the first step is to decide what you want to achieve. This step should not be taken lightly or with little thought since you may give-up after a few difficult steps into the journey.

What pain or fear are you attempting to overcome?

Equally as important, is why you want to achieve your goal? What pain or fear are you alleviating when you reach your goal? If the pain or fear isn’t great enough, your resolve may not be strong enough to keep you striving for what you desire and hence, your goal can slip through your fingers.

When? When are you going to systematically and regularly take action to achieve your goal?

The next step is to decide when to work on the goal. This is a critical step because when you make a commitment this helps you keep focused. Lastly, decide on how long to work on your goal. So, take out a timer, set it, and then work away until the time expires.

Your HABITS = Your SUCCESS

Achieving a goal is not about profundity, it gets back to tenacity…the smartest doesn’t always succeed, but the one who never gives up does. In the end, when you follow these few simple steps repeatedly, you soon realize that your HABITS = your SUCCESS, one step at a time.
