When you only believe in the seen, you lack the faith to achieve what you want; however, when you believe in the unseen, you have the vision to change your world.

Our past is taken away from us by our future

The Western mind has been molded by the great scientists of the past: Galileo, Newton, and Einstein. In their time and with their technology, each of these brilliant minds left a legacy that explained the world in which they lived. However, when they imparted their intelligence upon us, they, nonetheless, took a vital part of our past away from us.

Formulae and statistics cannot and will not ever acknowledge or explain the unseen world around us

One of the lasting legacies of these brilliant minds is that knowledge and reason are reduced to formulae. These magical numbers, which are beyond the comprehension of most, can and do explain everything that we can possibly experience or question within and about our lives. We are inundated with the idea that science is logic and logic does not support the unseen.

Rational minds dismiss the influence from the unseen

Thus, a rational mind only believes what is seen and explained by science. It is sheer folly to believe in miracles within a world of logic and reason. It is of little wonder that in a recent survey the majority of the respondents did not believe in a Supreme Being.

Ancient messages are seen as metaphors but with little substance or relevance

With the belief that science is the supreme intelligence, it appears that the wisdom and message of the ancients is all but mocked and discarded. Their wise messages about the universe we inhabit are seen as cute metaphors that are interesting, but, hold no substance or no answers.

New physics challenges the view that some have of the unseen and irrational

Then along came the new physics which is represented by the likes of Max Planck, John Wheeler, David Bohm, and Karl Pribram who challenge the science and scientists of the past. In essence, the general belief from these scientists is that the universe, and therefore, everything within it is connected by a field of energy that responds and grows from our attention and participation. Hence, we all contribute and create within the ever-expanding universe in which we find ourselves in.

A divine web of existence has connected us since the universe was created

This message of connection and participation is the same as described within the founding legends of past societies when they spoke of their life. Almost 5000 years ago, the ancient ones lived their lives based upon the principles of a divine web or net of creation. Even though we have been aware of these guiding principles, it is only now that scientists are beginning to realize what the wise ones of the past knew and practiced all along.

Humankind is at a crossroads and our future depends upon our view of the ideas from the past

It now appears that those who believed in the unseen were right from the very beginning as modern-day science now proves. It seems that humankind is currently at a crossroads which could determine our very existence in the near future. Hence, the messages that ancient cultures left for us we’re not all in vain or without reason. Still, we need to embrace these ancient values and messages in order to make progress and live a life filled with spirituality and oneness with the Creator of the cosmos.

You are the conductor, you are the instrument, you are the music.

You do have control over your future regardless of your dreadful past and unpleasant present

How many times have you heard that you have no control over your future and no responsibility for your past or present circumstances? While these people had the best of intentions with their words, they were simply unaware of the Natural Laws which guide our universe. The good news is that you do have complete control over your future regardless of your dreadful past and your unpleasant present. These are not the musings of an optimist or the wishes of a naïve man, these words are proven scientifically in recent times by well-known and respected researchers.

Ancient wisdom is supported by modern science

In these modern days of enlightenment, scientific findings are not contradicting the words of the wise teachers from the past, rather, they are supporting what the ancients wrote to us and for us centuries ago. And this new scientific dogma is replacing our old beliefs and our fallacies with truths gained from meticulous investigation and research.

We are creators and not just passive spectators

In the past, one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, Albert Einstein, wrote that we were just spectators within our vast universe, and as such, we had virtually no effect upon the intricacies we witness before our eyes. Since this observation forms the very backbone of modern scientific thought, most of us believed or still believe this observation and sit back passively and merely accept our role unquestionably, after all, who are we to contradict this genius. Then along came a colleague of Einstein’s, David Bohm, who set the scientific world upside down with his theory. Dr Bohm challenged our long-accepted role within the cosmos proving that we are vital participants in creation and not passive observers as generally accepted.

Don’t just sit back and watch your future unfold, rather, take responsibility for the future you desire

In essence, the universe and each and everything within it, from the smallest particle to the largest body are connected. Hence, we are creators not just spectators. This is the very backbone of quantum physics, thus, humankind, each and every one of us, regardless of gender, age, intellect, location, or culture is an active participant within the mighty cosmos which we find ourselves. Think about how liberating and empowering this idea is to humankind; no longer can we or should we sit back and accept that we have no control, no effect, no responsibility for our future or the future of our world.

You are the orchestra which creates a beautiful, unique symphony

As you acknowledge your role as the conductor, the instrument, and the music, you soon recognize that you and you alone are entirely responsible to change the volume, the intensity, and the beauty of what you produce within your inner world which then changes the results within your outer world.

A seedling of fear cannot possibly grow into a flower of success.

Fear permeates our thoughts

The noted newspaper columnist, Ann Landers, once wrote that the most frequent complaint people have is their preoccupation with fear. This fear stops us dead in our tracks as it stifles creativity, destroys dreams, and crushes enthusiasm for life.

Fear pushes our goals out of our reach

All the while, fear is pushing us farther and farther away from achieving the joy and wealth which we all deserve from life. Nothing can ever be gained from fear, but, everything can be lost.

There are many forms of fear

Some of the common fears that most frequently plague us include: fear of success, fear of failure, fear of poverty, fear of sickness, and fear of time. As a result: we fear poverty in the future because we have a mountain of bills at the present moment; we fear failure because we tried to be an Internet marketer once and failed; we fear loss since we had love at one time with a very special someone, but, that person has left our life.

Fear shackles our future

It can be said that fear holds us in our present situation and also prevents us from escaping the unpleasant circumstances we find ourselves in. Still, when fear controls our thoughts, we can only manifest that which we fear into our lives.

We live in an ordered universe

This must be the case since we live in an ordered universe that is governed by Natural Laws. However, fear must not be allowed to enter our lives when it stops us from achieving our goals.

Our focus manifests our future

The good news is that you can conquer fear by having faith and acting upon your goal each day of your life. With this mindset, fear has little chance to enter or take-over your mind and your life. And, if you feel fear is creeping back into your life, do something and quick, face your fear head-on.

Every minute of every day we are creating our future because of the thoughts we hold in our minds.

Success, in what form it may take, does not depend upon your physical world

We can attract unlimited abundance into our life. We can receive unlimited happiness into our life. We can manifest unlimited success into our life. And these extraordinary results are not limited to one’s age, gender, location, or level of formal education.

Why are we able to attract such large and wonderful results into our life?

Each and every one of us is made-up of the same physical materials that comprise the planets and every form of life found upon the Earth. Since we are all created from the same basic substances, we are all under the same Natural Laws as the largest solar system and the smallest microbes. As a result, if we consider the Law of Gravity, no matter the size of the object, gravity reacts in a like manner…this is exact and unerring like any mathematical formula bearing scientific proof.

We are in a constant state of vibration

While these various bodies, big and small, appear to be of a solid material, they, in fact, are in a state of constant motion. So, what we see is not what is.  Even our earthly bodies are in that same state of constant vibration. This motion is energy, raw energy which permeates every nook and cranny of the universe.

We are a storehouse of energy

And, our physical bodies, made of flesh and bone, are a living storehouse of energy. Still, we are not just energy; we are a powerful mass of spiritual energy, vibrating energy, which is in constant motion and manifests as our physical body and our material world.

Our thoughts, like our physical bodies, are under the Natural Laws

Our thoughts, although not possessing physical properties, are things found within the cosmos which then places them under the same Natural Laws as everything which inhabits the universe. Accordingly, our thoughts are a mass of spiritual energy which occupies every area within the universe.

We must master our thoughts to reach the level of success we deserve and desire

These thoughts, however, are not just haphazard, they originate within the minds of every single one of us whether consciously or unconsciously. Since we are the creators of our thoughts we are the masters of our thoughts.  Being the master, this places our thoughts under our control. We control our thoughts to actualize the things that we love and we control our thoughts to actualize the things that we fear.

Our innate energy supports our every thought

As we think either positive or negative thoughts, we must support these thoughts with our energy and this must set in motion everything that is necessary for the fulfillment of our thoughts.

Monitor your thoughts to achieve what you want in this life

Our thoughts and our thoughts alone create the future that we desire. Closely monitor your present thoughts to be sure that you are correctly thinking about what you want in life. Your very future depends upon your ability to control the most precious thing that you will ever own.

Cassie (2008-2018)

Tribute to Cassandra (Cassie, Dec 7, 2018)

It’s so sad when a dearly loved pet passes. After all, they are family.

Today is that day; we lost our beautiful Cassie and my tears are flowing out of a place of such sadness as I write this post for her.

When my wife told me this terrible news, I frantically searched for her pictures; my Desktop and all the folders, various flash drives, and the archives of Facebook.

Fortunately, there were many that spanned over the decade she shared with our family.

Ah, to see how she grew from a little ball of fur to a majestic adult.

Cassie decided upon us as her new family

My wife and I visited a friend whose Persian just had a new litter a few weeks prior to our visit. Before us, a handful to choose from; all white kittens, some with blue eyes and others with brown.

Then there was the runt of the litter; a tiny thing, significantly smaller then her siblings. Perhaps, that’s what attracted us to her. Besides, she stuck out from the rest of the litter due to her coloring; white, grey, and ginger…a wonderful calico coat.

She was a multi-colored jewel in the freshly fallen snow.

And it was her demeanor…she sat quietly, patiently waiting for us to decide upon her. She knew we were her new family. She hooked us, and were all in…we’d be her new family.

When we brought her home, she was so small, the size of a remote.

However, she had big feet and her paternal grandfather was a large cat. We suspected she’d grow to substantial proportions as well, and she did.

Sweet memories

Between the tears, memories flood my mind about the numerous fun times we spent together over the years.

She thought she was a dog and enjoyed retrieving a ball; she liked kneading bare skin with those sharp claws of hers; and she enjoyed sitting like a regal princess in the warm morning sun.

When she ran around on our polished wood floors, our laughter broke the silence as she would often slide around out of control like a novice skater on ice.

And if she was stressed, she would go and eat; as a result, we affectionately called her ‘Piggie‘ since she would visit her food bowl many times a day. Still, she never became obese and we wondered why.

We needed to stay one step ahead of her because she was an intelligent feline. She learned how to push open our patio door, if unlocked, and escape into the garden. Prison break! With the door opened a crack, and no sign of our two cats, we knew that they, or rather, she, was at it again.

We’d search high and low amongst the bushes, and much to her disapproval, bring her back into the house. A good brushing followed since dried leaves loved to cling to her thick coat of fur.

Cassie and Muffy

They were terrors together! They’d run after each other as we slept, and in the morning our bedroom floor would be covered with fur from their playful frolicking in the darkness of the night.

Cassie, who was laid-back most of the time, surely wondered why Muffy acted as she did. High-strung and vocal and just nasty at times, Cass couldn’t understand or condone that type of behavior. She would sit quietly, regal looking while in the midst of drama.

However, there were many moments when they snuggled and licked each other’s heads as they showed their love for each other.

Do animals mourn?

Now, we just have Muffy left. I wonder if she feels a sense of loss with Cassie’s passing. They were together since they were kittens, that’s ten years sharing the same space, not missing a day spent together.

Does Muffy feel sadness as we do about Cassie’s passing?

My regret; I was there to bring you home as a kitten and wished I’d been there to comfort you as you moved on to your new home as an adult.

If there is a kitty heaven, then you just entered there this morning, and now you’re looking upon us in our grief and missing you so much.

Rest In Peace, our dear Cassie.

“Big goals do not manifest from small efforts.”

photo-1456694441711-af0ab2d64c96Become aware of the Natural Laws

Some would have you believe that achieving a tremendous goal in your life is accomplished by merely sitting back and waiting until everything that is required to achieve the goal aligns between and amongst themselves to then simply manifest before your eyes. While this sounds very compelling to those who lack awareness, it is less intriguing to those who are aware of the Natural Laws of the universe and furthermore, it is somewhat of a simplistic view of the true workings of the universe.

Harnessing the Natural Laws for success

Now, this is not to say that you must work hard and sacrifice your physical health and your spiritual Self to achieve a goal. Far from it, rather, manifesting your goal is about harnessing the Natural Laws to work for you as you work with the Laws. Thus, we witness a symbiotic relationship occurring with both parties benefiting from the interface of our goals with the benevolent Source instead of a one-sided relationship where we receive everything and contribute nothing to achieve what is offered freely from the Source.

Change your present to change your future

It is important to fully comprehend the process of goal achieving or we simply repeat what we have done in the past and naturally, since our attempts failed in the past then they certainly will fail again in the future if nothing changes. First, even though it may seem to be contradictory to common sense, you should plan big goals to achieve the success that you want to reach and the success that is freely provided by the Source.

Focus upon BIG goals, ones that you don’t know how to achieve

When you plan your goal, if you know how to achieve that goal at the moment that you set it, then it is far too small of a goal. You are clearly underachieving with this stratagem as you are freely admitting that your outer world is ruling your inner world. This is playing it safe, however, do not be afraid of setting tremendous goals; set them and have full confidence in the unerring laws of the universe to manifest your goals.

Why do you need to accomplish your goal?

Second, it is critical for success to focus upon the solution and not focus upon the problem. When approaching goal setting from a state of want, this will only keep the want in the present and future since you are in a state of lack and not in a state of abundance. Instead, it is key to wrap your mind around the idea of not only focusing upon what you want, but, why you need it. For example, rather than focus upon only the need to earn a specific monthly amount of money (the problem), focus upon your family enjoying a nice home or having an extended vacation at a very nice tropical setting (the solution).

Your focus determines your achievements

And there are other examples to apply which have you refocus upon the why and not only the want: you want to start you own business since you are afraid of being fired from your present job vs. you start you own business and enjoy more family time and your children can attend and graduate from a good college. With the proper focus, you are attracting the goal to you and not repelling it from you. And one last thing to consider, do not wait until you achieve your goal before you believe…believe it first in order to achieve it.

Faith and belief creates peace along your path to success

Third, once you have the faith and belief to set that tremendous goal, it is now imperative to relax, with meditation and visualization sessions, and wait until the means to achieve your goal is provided to you by the benevolent Source.

Listen to your inner voice

Take time to be still, to shut-out the noise around you and to get in touch with the deepest part of your Self. You will not be disappointed; however, you must be patient and not become anxious or nervous if the answer does not immediately become apparent to you.

Action follows after you discovered your plan

Still, once you have heard the plan how to achieve your goal from the Source, you must act upon it immediately. Take time to write-up a plan of action and then work at it and not half-heartedly. Even though the Source will provide the path to your goal, you must not sit by idly and wait until the goal comes to you, you must take the initiative to take those steps needed to achieve your final goal.

BIG thinking and action manifest results

At the end of the day, it is easy to understand that a big effort is no more than big thinking; it has been said that achieving a small goal takes just as much energy as it takes to achieve a big goal. The Source will provide all that is required to achieve what you can perceive, still, if you make a half-hearted effort the result will be far less than what you can achieve. Face your life with a think big attitude and you will be surprised where that road takes you.

Where do we find truth in this day and age?

3. Truth is within, do not look elsewhere.

(Osho’s Third New Commandment)

We are truth

Each of us is the physical manifestation of a compassionate, loving Source who is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, the start and the finish. As such, we are the embodiment of truth…we are created from truth and we retain the truth deep within. Our truth is not seen on the outside by others, but it is felt on the inside by each of us. And it is our truth and ours alone that helps us to live a joyful and meaningful life.

Quiet the noise

header20Our modern technological age has many distractions; television, computers, and mobiles all get in line to take a piece out of us, as we surrender one piece at a time these cannot be replaced unless we endure a great deal of angst and difficulty. Still, we must find truth, our truth even though we face a myriad of roadblocks that blind us from the truth. How do we find truth? We must quiet the noise that threatens to smother us, takes away truth, forms barriers between us and what we know is the truth for us. The best way to turn down the white noise of modernity and make it inaudible is to meditate on a regular basis. As we face our self in quiet solitude, we face our truth, and as we face our truth we face the truth that has been given freely and lovingly by the Source.

Truth has no physical shape

Do not look at an expensive watch for truth; do not look at a costly automobile for truth; and do not look at a spacious mansion for truth…you will be disappointed if you think these material goods will reveal the truth to you. If perchance, you do believe that these hold the truth that you are seeking, it is only an illusion, one that is able to fool your five worldly senses but one that cannot fool your unworldly senses.

Be selfish and pursue truth

Some of us may think that it is selfish to pursue truth, this idea is as far from the truth as it possibly can be. When we pursue truth we are fulfilling our love for and the obligation to the Source to be the best we can be. This is not being selfish…this is being selfless. Untainted by the perils of modern day living, we end up at our original place of being, a hallowed place that is formed by the positive energy emitted by the light and the love of our Creator.

Truth is to be lived, each moment at a time

We live truth, we are truth in our present physical manifestation…we cannot create it…we cannot see it…we cannot buy it…we can only live it, and we live it when we close our eyes and listen to the truth that we hold within.

What is life?

2. The only God is life itself

(Osho’s Second New Commandment)

Misguided love

It appears that we in this modern era have turned our love of the Source to the love of things and science. The focus of our affection and adoration has turned from a caring, compassionate entity to cold, inanimate objects of steel and gold. However, it is our new found love that has left us deeply scarred and longing for what we know is the pathway to joy and a meaningful life.

We pass with only our souls

header16Many believe that they can find true happiness from owning the latest purse, watch, car, or mobile phone. They rush out and attempt to find their lost identity in a particular model of phone or purse, spurred on by a feeling of emptiness and want. That new purchase may temporarily fill their needs, however, it can never fill them long term…all new goods soon become out of date, old, not ‘in’ anymore and then the carousel of buying to feel whole starts again with a new one of this or a new one of that. We can never take any of our physical possessions with us when we pass to the next level of existence.

Science is not the answer

Then there are others who rationalize that science can fill their needs, answer all of their questions about life, our reason, and our purpose to be here in our present physical manifestation. They reason that only the seen, those objects that can be measured, and quantified are the ‘real’ things in life. The unseen is not real, it is a canon of fiction and fallacy that poets write about, lover’s dream about, singers sing about, and religious people pray about. However, this idea loses it shine when analyzed critically, after all, we cannot see electricity or gravity but we enjoy the benefits from these two great forces of nature each and every day of our lives. Science may help you live more days, but in the end even this miracle no longer can keep you alive.

Nature is created by a loving Source

The rest of us have a firm belief that there is a wondrous power in nature, a strong force, a timeless energy that has been present since the universe was formed billions of years ago. That force is life itself, and it comes in all shapes and sizes, in all places and at all times. How can we not marvel at a clear blue mountain stream or a stand of stately sequoia trees…both testaments to the oneness of nature, the miraculous plan from our Creator. And nestled in amongst those beautiful moments of nature, we find humankind; our life a miracle, a planned miracle, a marvelous product created by the Source. The belief in a force other than yourself provides long term joy and meaning to this life and those that follow.

Things and formulas cannot fill the hole that exists within your soul, these things can only temporarily mask the emptiness that exists within, they can never truly satisfy a person for long in this life.

Worship life

We should worship life; it is a miracle in whatever form it takes… an eagle, a flower or a human life. Every minute that your hearts beats or you take a breath of air, it is an amazing miracle and we should express our deepest gratitude to feel joy and purpose in our life. Life is the Source…it was, it is, and it will be.

Moses, Osho and the New Ten Commandments

According to the Book of Exodus in the Bible, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt to escape persecution at the hands of the Pharaoh, Ramses. Having escaped evil, they set up their camp at the base of Mount Sinai. Moses ascended the sacred mountain and returned with two stone tablets that listed the Ten Commandments (Thou shall not murder; Thou shall not steal). These were laws to help guide Moses’ people to lead a ‘good’ life.

Now, let’s move ahead in time where we find the New Ten Commandments penned by  Osho (December. 11, 1931 – January 19, 1990), an Indian mystic, guru, writer, and spiritual teacher. Even all these years after his death, his works are followed by a large number of readers for their wonderful messages. Recently, I read Osho’s words on an ancient theme of how to live a ‘good’ life in modern times. Over the next few posts, I’ll include my ideas about the Ten New Laws of Life.

1. Obey no orders except those within.

(Osho’s First New Commandment)

Our intuition is our most valued gift

stairwayOur inner self, or our intuition is a direct link to our Creator, and as such the ideas we receive from our inner being must be accepted as the truth, the one and only truth in our present physical manifestation. Since there can be only one truth, and that truth comes from within, we should not listen to what comes from without. It is our inner world, the unseen world of feelings and intuition that manifests a life of joy and plenty. However, many shun the unseen only for the seen as a pathway to happiness and success in life. That’s myopic.

Intuition is irrational, not logical

Those who only believe what they see, which in turn is something that they can measure, identify, and therefore analyze with scientific accuracy have a difficult time in believing that intuition exists. This is not a reason to disbelieve. However, as Osho (2001) points out, “Intuition cannot be explained scientifically because the very phenomenon is unscientific. The very phenomenon of intuition is irrational.” We cannot see gravity…but it exists for our benefit. We must experience a leap of faith – because it cannot be measured is not a valid reason to think that it does not or cannot exist.

We cannot intellectualize intuition

Our problem is that we feel intuition and then attempt to intellectualize it, to fill the gap between what we feel and what we cannot see, touch, or smell. Still, the higher can subsume the lower, but the lower cannot subsume the lower, and so it is with intuition…it can subsume intellect but intellect cannot subsume it. When we obey what is without and not within, we cannot reach our full potential in life, it is so because our present is not our future…our future is malleable if we follow what we know is the truth. Ultimately, if we obey what comes from within,  and not what comes from without, we have mastered the first of the new Laws of Life.

Osho (2001). Intuition: Knowing beyond logic. New York: St. Martin’s
