Happiness is...living by these nine principles
Happiness is an inside job…and here’s where a great deal of our problems arise in life. We look outside of ourselves to create happiness; we want newer cars, we want larger homes, and we want more money thinking that these material goods will fill the holes in our soul. The ideas in this book will help you measure your happiness and then provide ideas to gain or retain our most valued gift.
Principle 1
Expressing Gratitude
It appears that expressing gratitude…deep-felt, honest-to- goodness, down in your soul thankfulness for wherever you are or whatever you have in this life is the daddy of them all. If you’ve read my other books (for example, Ten Steps to Success, Volume I), you found that expressing gratitude on a daily basis for what you have (size of your bank account, the age of your car, or the size of your house), or what you are (your age, profession, or location), would open the gates of success since your success originates from the happiness that you feel within your soul. You see, as you think happiness you must receive happiness; as you speak happiness you must receive happiness, and as you act happiness you must receive happiness. This is a universal law…the sacred gates within your soul will only be open to receive what you send out of them initially. There’s no getting around the Natural Laws which are immutable, constant, and never changing.
Many of us are victims of our own beliefs in life; while they are false beliefs, nonetheless, we see ourselves as such in a myriad of situations and we then become resentful of our situation. Experiencing the difference between what we think we are, and what we are at the moment as well as being where we are blocks true happiness in your life. Somehow, if you’re not as you think, you must dig deep and find something, no matter how small to feel genuinely grateful for, and if you do you will be on the path to find true happiness.
