About the Book

As we look around at our world today, we see a great number of problems; climate change, economic meltdowns, illnesses, and new diseases.

Let’s not fool ourselves any longer. The state of the world scares us to death. However, you can be a bright light in the darkness. There are multiple crises, but also multiple opportunities. By examining and applying the many opportunities that present themselves to us in the present chaos of today, there can be a spiritual awakening in each of us …or a reawakening for others.

For us to face our own awakening or reawakening, we must alter our consciousness to become a more loving, caring, compassionate Self who gives more than we take. This will create real meaning and truth in our lives, and less suffering to all.

The sub-title of the book is what caught my attention. How Can We Change The World One Person At A Time? It is the author's belief that if we are to save humanity, we need to change from a Me-ist society to a We-ist society. A Me-ist will focus on what is in their best interest with little regard for helping the common good. It's all about me, me, me. A We-ist is concerned about things like peace, forgiveness, love, compassion, gratitude, humility, and spirituality. As we work on being a better person, this will naturally have an affect on the people around us. That's how it compounds one person at a time.
– Gary Marshall
Finally, a book that speaks to the countercultural message of Me-ism! Roger Kenworthy has written a book worthy of reading. In it, he speaks against the message our world is teaching all of us right now, which is, "this life is all about you so go do you." As a full-time Missionary, I couldn't agree more with Roger's assumption that "The dark curtains of our egos and fears shroud our sense of humility and create formidable roadblocks." Fit for all audiences, Roger uses many different backgrounds and religious beliefs to point us to a higher purpose in life. We are not here to simply focus on our own needs and wants. So true! As a believer in Jesus Christ, I was particularly happy to read a few passages from the Holy Scriptures. In fact, my favorite line from this book was a quote from Colossians 1:27. "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"
